Undergrads donate books and equipment to school children
View(s):Students of the Wayamba University Faculty of Agriculture and Plantation Management and Bio system Engineering Department have, for the second time, organised a programme to distribute educational items for students from schools requiring support.
The students of 2021 and 2023 were involved in the project where items for the students were distributed at the university auditorium.
Buthgampola Maha Vidyala in Makandura, Sangaratna Vidyayala, Al-Ameen Madha Maha Vidyala, Nalawalana Junior school, and Jaya Shri Primary school students received the books and equipment.
Students of Buthgampola Maha Vidyala received musical instruments under the programme.
The undergraduates had conducted fund raising projects to collect the money.
Vice Chancellor of the Wayamba University Prof L D R D Perera presided over the event while Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Plantation Management Prof J C Edirisinghe and head of the Bio system Engineering Department Prof N W B A L Udayanga participated.
