Seminar on the Importance of Counselling for Everyday Life at IChemC

The Center for Quality Assurance of the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon (IChemC) recently organised a special counselling session for its internal academic staff. The seminar, titled “Counselling is Essential for Everyday Life (at One Time or Another),” was conducted by Prof. Mangalika Hettiarachchi, Student Counsellor of IChemC, on 15th August 2025 at the Council Room of the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon.
The interactive session highlighted the significance of counselling in maintaining emotional well-being, overcoming professional and personal challenges, and fostering a supportive academic environment. Prof. Hettiarachchi emphasized that counselling is not limited to crisis situations but is a valuable tool for managing everyday life and enhancing resilience.
The seminar provided academic staff with practical insights on how to approach counselling as both a resource for personal development and as a way to better support students. Participants expressed appreciation for the timely initiative, noting its relevance in promoting a healthy and balanced workplace culture within IChemC.
