The University Grants Commission (UGC) has instructed vice chancellors of all universities and heads of other higher education institutions to send the formats and guidelines followed by their establishments when processing the payments of research allowances.

A circular dated July 1 stresses the UGC has noted that higher educational institutions/institutes are following varying practices in processing the payment of the research allowance. As such, the Commission has emphasised the need of establishing common guidelines for processing research allowance payments “to ensure conformity across all higher educational institutions/institutes.”

The formats and guidelines are to be submitted on or before July 10. (SJ)
