Applications open for Fulbright H Hubert Humphrey Fellowship
View(s):The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education had called applications for the Fulbright H Hubert Humphrey Fellowship programme for Lankans.
The fellowship programme enhances leadership among international professionals who collaborate to address local and global challenges and foster change for collective good.
According to the notice posted on the higher education website Applications are accepted from Sri Lankans for the Fulbright Hubert H Humphrey Fellowship for the 2026 session through their official portal.

The fellowship is specially designed for midcareer professionals to carry out graduate-level non-degree academic coursework in one of the participating higher education institutions in the United States.
The objective of the fellowship is to build connections between international and US professionals to advance solutions for pressing global challenges.
The duration of the fellowship is 10-12 months, during which the selected participants will have an opportunity to work in the USA in their relevant fields. The programme will commence in Fall 2026.
The application deadline is July 31.
The grant benefits are pre-departure orientation programme in Colombo, monthly living stipend while in the USA, round-trip economy class air travel from Sri Lanka to the host organisation in the US, health insurance, Fulbright enrichment activities, immigration advising and immigration sponsorship support.
The applicants should be Lankan nationals and should fulfil the requirements such as continuously resided in Sri Lanka for a minimum of 2 years immediately prior to the award application deadline; Demonstrate aptitude and accomplishment in their academic, artistic or professional field thorough awards received, achievements and output; Have a minimum of 5 years experience in respective fields; and Must have at least five years of full-time professional experience beyond attainment of a first university/undergraduate degree prior to October 2025. As well as demonstrate commitment to sharing knowledge with counterparts.
