The TID informed courts that the particular weapon had been assembled, and one of the former minister’s employees had handed it over to a woman in the neighbourhood.
Sampath Mendis, PC and Faizer Mustapha, PC appearing on behalf of Mr Dissanayake told court that he has been arrested based on statements made by other suspects and therefore should be careful on deciding on the matter.
They said they would be submitting the legal position before the magistrate on the next court day.
Earlier a 68-year-old woman and her daughter-in-law, a Kazakhstan national, and the employee of the former minister were arrested.
