Kaplan of rugby fame arrives in Lanka

International Rugby Board referee Jonathan Kaplan will conduct a Referee Educator Workshop in Sri Lanka during his brief visit during May 28 to June 9 in Colombo and Kandy.

During his visit he will educate the local national players and coaches on the practical aspect of the Laws of the Game.

Record-breaking South African Test referee Kaplan will retire from professional refereeing after 21 years at the end of the 2013 South African season.

Kaplan who is holding a record of controlling 68 Test matches officiated 99 Vodacom Super Rugby matches and at four Rugby World Cup Tournaments.

The time Kaplan arriving in Sri Lanka gives a doubt on the rugby loving public if he is coming to officiate the first leg of Bradby Shield First as well.

Trinity will lock horns in the 69th Bradby Shield encounter on June 1 at the Pallekelle Rugby Stadium which will be also a tournament game in the on going Singer League Under 20 .
