Hatton National Bank ‘A’ outclassed Nations Trust Bank by 57 goals to 19 in the grand final of the inaugural Inter Bank Netball

Championships that was played at St. Joseph’s College, Maradana last weekend.
In the play off for the third place, HNB ‘B’ defeated Commercial Bank by 13 goals to 11.
On their way to the final, HNB ‘A’ defeated Commercial Bank 27 goals to 6 in the first semi final, while Nations Trust Bank overcame Hatton National Bank ‘B’ by 17 goals to 14 in a thrilling finish.
Pabasara Gunasekera of HNB was adjudged the best player of the tournament. The team was coached by Somitha De Awis and managed by Anne Weerakkodi.
Ranjani Jayakody, Director General Sports was the chief guest, while Victoria Lakshmi, President of the Netball Federation was also present.
Eleven banks participated in the tournament which was organized by Sri Lankasports. – BM
