Airwomen take wing to Vietnam

The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) women’s volleyball team will represent the country at the Lien Viet Post Bank Cup International Volleyball Championship to be held in Vietnam from Sunday, May 19 to 27.

The Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) is organizing the event along with the Volleyball Federation of Vietnam.

Eight teams representing China, New Zealand, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Vietnam are scheduled to participate at this event in the Bac Ninh province in Vietnam.

SLAF women’s volleyball team are the current national champions and are enjoying a highly successful season, being unbeaten during the last two years.

Leading Aircraftwoman Dinesha Prasadini, the national team’s skipper leads the SLAF team on this tour and the team comprises several national players.

Sergeant Nalin Sampath Abeysinghe a former national and SLAF captain is the Head Coach of the team. He is assisted by Sergeant Upul De Silva.
