CID detains Tamil MP’s vehicle

The CID has detained the vehicle of TNA’s Jaffna District parliamentarian Padmini Sithamparanathan following information that the vehicle was registered under the name of LTTE Women’s Wing head Thamilini.

The CID on Wednesday visited the MPs’ quarters and questioned her about the vehicle. She had explained that she had been using the vehicle for the past four years and no one had questioned her.

However, the CID took the vehicle into custody for further investigation. Ms. Sithamparanathan was not available for comment as she has left the country.
