Dilshan heroics put Bloomfield on top

Bloomfield held the whip hand on the performance of a 248 ball knock of 166 with 17 boundaries and two sixes by Dilshan Munaweera on day two of their Under 23 Division Two cricket final against BRC at the SSC grounds yesterday.

Dilshan was supported by another knock of 68 from Sachindra Rupasinghe as Bloomfield ended their innings on 365 from their overnight score of 214 for 4.

Dilshan was also associated in two partnerships - one of 117 for the third wicket with Rupasinghe and the other of 87 for the fifth wicket with skipper Rajkumar Rathika.

The first day’s play also saw Bloomfield dominating play with Dilshan Munaweera running through the BRC batting capturing 5 for 22 to bowl them out for a paltry 91. The match will be continued at 10.00 a.m. today which is the final day with BRC batting the second time struggling on 111 for 5 and are left with the daunting task of erasing a further 163 runs to avoid an innings defeat.
