UCL Partners with Orel Corporation to provide exciting Career Opportunities to Sri Lankan Students

Sharing its ethos of quality whilst producing high calibre and quality graduates for industries locally and internationally, Universal College Lanka (UCL) is the leader in quality transnational education in Sri Lanka and champions its students to reach the pinnacle of achievement in diverse industries to become business leaders.

As such, two likeminded entities signed a memorandum of understanding at the picturesque UCL campus for the benefit of UCL students to be enriched by selected Internships and career opportunities at Orel Corporation and Orel IT.

Speaking at the occasion, General Manager – Business Development of Orel Corporation, Mr. Chaminda De Silva mentioned that they were proud to be partnered with UCL, a quality higher education institute, which takes pride in recognising the efforts of a Sri Lankan company who has a vision to uplift the youth of Sri Lanka.

“We are thrilled to pave the way for a “learn-and-earn” opportunity for the students of UCL in terms of Internships commencing this June, who we feel will be young business leaders in salient industries and take on the next level of innovation, such as industry 4.0 or 5.0”, he noted.

Endorsing this sentiment, the Chief Executive Officer of UCL, Mr. Gihan Silva stated, “It is a privilege to partner with a like- minded organisation committed to achieving superior quality and international standards in the respective operations. The high calibre graduates of UCL would prove to be excellent candidates to add value to Orel with their superior knowledge, skills attitude to achieve success”.

Dean of Academic Affairs at UCL, Dr. Dhananjaya Kulkarni added that the approach to finding solutions to the problems faced in Sri Lanka in terms of job opportunities and finding possible solutions to the economic issues was much appreciated.

The MoU will bring in mutual benefits for both parties as this multi-billion-dollar Sri Lankan company will be able to build a pipeline of quality graduates in business, information technology and engineering which matches the needs of the organisation. The partnership is considered a ‘win-win’ by both entities in terms of a matching work ethic and creating gainful employment for top-calibre students who wish to be part of the next generation workforce who will be catalysts in creating change.
