Accordingly the number of students who followed the Science stream for GCE A/L has increased to 41,168, from 38,042 in 2014. The MoE said that, though the number of students passing in Science fluctuated in the past few years, the number selecting the Science stream gradually increased.

The MoE was of the view that the demand for persons who have qualified in Science subjects, may be one of the reasons for the interest in this area.

The MoE has also increased the facilities for teaching of Science, by increasing the number of teachers and providing Science Labs.
