An exhibition by children with special needs was declared open by Additional Secretary Mallika Amarasekara at the Mencafep Institute in Nuwara Eliya on Monday. A special feature was that the exhibition included creations by children on estates in Walapane, Welimada and Nuwara Eliya.

The Mencafep Institute was founded in Nuwara-Eliya nearly three decades ago by Britishers Chris and Ranji Stubbs to care for children with special needs in the area. Ms. Amarasekara appreciated the great service the Mencafep Institute was doing.
Several Government and non-governmental sector officials attended the opening event.
