The ANC UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION PROGRAMME, commonly known as UFP is the most popular and relevant pathway programme in Sri Lanka at present.Theobjective of ANC‘s foundation program is to broaden the opportunities of the local student who is traditionally inclined to pursue their A/levels and later a main stream degree. The foundation program also intends to encourage students to gain a smooth transition into the changes that come with transferring to a foreign University for higher studies. As local norms have very rigid do’s and don’ts to young students it is often observed that they experience what some may call a‘’culture shock’ which might hinder their progress in academics and well-being as a whole, the Foundation program prepares the student to face such challenges with their internationally recognized curriculum. The syllabus is designed in such a way that their soft skills are developed by teaching them to do presentations, research analysis and much more.
There are only limited avenues of study one can pursue in Sri Lanka, it is inevitable that a considerable number of students opt to pursue their studies overseas and it is commendable on the part of ANC to have a curriculum that supportstheir requirements. Currently Australia is the most preferred destination for university education among Sri Lankan students and the eligibility for the foundation programme calls for a minimum qualification of 5 O/L passes or one can also join with pending O/L results. It is 10 month course not only limited to classroom sessions but also aims at developing the soft skills of a student. The curriculum is inclusive of presentations, assignments and many exercises which delivers students the confidence to transfer to leading Australian and New Zealand Universities/Colleges to commence their first year.
THE AUSTRALIAN DIPLOMA PROGRAMME
ANC Education has been a strong tertiary education provider in the Sri Lankan education sector, for providing transnational education options and preparing students for entry into leading universities. Keeping that promise, ANC Education offers its own Diploma programs leading to the second year of a degree at Deakin University, University of Wollongong, CSU, Murdoch University and University of Western Sydney. This enables students post A/Levels to gain a first-hand experience to international university life as it is. The student gains entry to the second year of University after completion of the Diploma. The area of Study include Business, Science, IT and Engineering.
