Good Cricket show by Kaikawala Central
Having recorded two wins and a draw from the three matches played in the Preliminary round, Kaikawala Central Matale has qualified to enter the second round of the ongoing SLSCA U.17 division 3 inter school cricket tournament.
Fielding an under 17 cricket XI for the first time Kaikawala Central under the captaincy of Harsha Bandara has performed well to beat fancied Vijaya College Matale by 8 wickets and Weera Keppetipola Central Akuramboda by 9 wickets while being held to a draw by St. Anthony’s College Katugastota Kandy. Kaikawala Central is the only school from Matale that has qualified for the second round of SLSCA division 3 U/17 inter school cricket tournament.
In these matches Isuru Chamika proved his all round capabilities by scoring an unbeaten top score of 48 against Vijaya Matale and then capturing a total of 8 wickets for 75 runs with 3 for 8 runs against Akuramboda Central being the best.
