TREES FELLED AT CRICKET VENUE

There was big ruckus at a major cricket venue in the outstations recently with even the long arm of the law being called in to control them. It was pointed out that the big trees, surrounding this venue, are being used by spectators to witness the games free-of-charge. After one such game the organisers decided to cut down some of them. Well and good! But now the question arises as to what happened to the trees that were felled, because no news has been revealed about them? Some of the felled trees are supposed to be very expensive and could fetch a handsome amount from a timber merchant! Alas! even after cutting down the trees in the first game, there were spectators on trees watching the game free of charge.
ALL FOR THE LOVE OF A GAME!
A strange thing happened at an under 16 rugby match played at an outstation venue. The game between two leading teams ended in a tie, those in the know say that the officials were not keeping a proper check on the game. Anyway the organisers decided to extend the game to extra time. That too after another game was played! The poor lads had to bear this discomfiture for the sheer love of the game.
AN EXPLANATION CALLED FOR

A Big Wig has called for an explanation why such a lot of officials had accompanied the local team for the Rio Olympics when the contingent was only nine! It has now surfaced that the Big Wig was actually gunning for some officials who have been at the helm of things for over a decade and wanted a change of officials for the future at least.
THE CHARGE – SHEET
An official of a leading sports body had been interdicted for reasons best known by this body. Anyway this official had reported to work before the month was out and had scanned her finger indicating that she is back at work. She claims that no charge sheet had been brought against her and that she will reveal all that is happening at the sports body if the charge sheet is presented.
NEW DISEASE
There seems to be a new disease with a top official of a leading sport as he has the penchant to invite top government officials for matches and sit with them in order that he is photographed with them. Recently this Big Shot was shown on TV with a top law maker at a game.
MEGA AUCTION
A sports body which has been producing several top sportsmen and women is quiet these days. The reason for is that they have not been able to produce any noteworthy performances nor any medals. Now this sports body is planning to have a mega auction where sports equipment and other items will be on sale in order to raise funds.
