An unbeaten 101 inclusive of 20 boundaries by Thushira Madanayake was the highlight of the morning session of play on day two in the Emerging Trophy cricket encounter between Lankan CC and Air Force SC played at the Air Force ground in Katunayake.

The proceedings on day one saw Lankan CC taking first lease of the wicket helped by a knock of 84 by Shantha Kalavitigoda which included 13 boundaries and two sixes end the day on 292 for 7.

Thushira’s knock on day two enabled Lankan CC resuming on their overnight score end their innings making a formidable score of 364. Air Force SC in their turn went into lunch on eight for no loss.

Kalutara TC continued to dominate proceedings against Panadura SC on day two in the match played at Panadura. Kalutara TC spearheaded by half tons from Chamod Silva and Damindu Ashan posted a score of 262 while Panadura SC ended day one on 102 for 5.

The second day’s play saw Panadura SC continuing from their overnight score succumbing to Navin Kavikara who ended with a five wicket haul as they lost their remaining five wickets for the addition of 47 runs being bowled out for 149.

BRC has already taken a first inning lead over Moratuwa SC when play stopped for lunch on day two in the match played at the BRC ground. BRC in reply to Moratuwa SC’s 186 resuming on their overnight score of 148 for 6 went on to make 245.

Kurunegala YCC bowlers Mohamed Siras and Anuruddha Rajapakse shared eight wickets as the duo wrecked the Kalutara PCC batting to put their side in a strong position on day two in the match played at the Welagedara Stadium in Kurunegala.

The second day’s play saw Kalutara PCC struggling on 89 for 9 being bowled out without any addition for the same. This was in reply to Kurunegala YCC’s score of 231 which came on the back of knock of 90 by Dharshana Mahawatte.

Navy SC were 70 for 4 in reply to Police SC’s 240 when play stopped for lunch on the second day in the match played at Dambulla.
