As the year draws to a close this month’s column is all about the trends that made quite an impression on us all. Read on for a few of the most popular trends that stole the spotlight.

Hair trends  There were embellished, slicked back, pulled high and tight or worn down in loose waves, curls & colour in the hairstyles this year. Here are a few that made an impression! Anne Hathaway – This pixie hair cut with the ‘windswept’ longer layers on top up the glam factor Reese Witherspoon – This is a more ‘retro’ attempt & makes those curls do the work! Katy Perry – Best way to try pastel shades is try it on shorter hair. Especially if you want to avoid the whole mermaid look. Kyle Jenner – Perfectly sultry look. Not too short nor long. |
Clothing Trends The Crop Top – How much midriff do you dare to bare? It was all about the tiny top paired with a cute pair of pants or skirt. If you’ve done your share at the gym, definite winner number for you! White on white – This brings in the ‘glamorous and classical’ factor right in. Perfect with a statement bag & flashy red lip color! Cold- shoulder –This trend had its moment this year ranging from casual blouse to sexy evening gowns. Accessory Trends Top Brass – The metal of the moment is richly hued brass, done up bold and brash on a wide variety of pieces. Hippie Jewellery – The ‘70s trend found its way in to chunky, earthy pieces retro touch with a more streamlined taste than their original predecessors. The IT Bag – After an era of minimalistic clutches & hands-free satchel, the IT bag was brought back The Gladiator – It’s all about the warrior’s sole! Traditional Roman & Greek wear was brought back with a modern chic touch
