Mihith Eknaligoda bags five swim medals

Mihith Eknaligoda, a promising young swimmer from Ananda College bagged five medals at the annual swimming competition of Fingara Swimming Academy held last week. He bagged four gold medals and a silver medal in the Under-7 age category and went on to become the champion swimmer of the age group.

Under the guidance of his coach Chamara Waduge, young Mihith showed his prowess at the All-Island Swimming Competition, clocking the best time in the Under-8 Freestyle event. He is a top contender at the Ananda College Inter-House Swimming Championships held annually.

Mihith, who aims to become a top swimmer in time to come, is the son of former two former top athletes. His mother Anusha Eknaligoda is a former long jump and triple jump champion at national level while his father was a well renowned thrower.
