Four athletes who won medals in Qatar felicitated

Four young athletes, who won medals at the Asian Youth Athletics Championships 2015 held in Qatar, were felicitated with cash awards by the Minister of Sports Navin Dissanayake at the Ministry Auditorium last week.

The youngsters who bagged medals were Yamani Dulanjali, U.K. Dharshan, Chamal Kumarasiri and Roshan Dhammika. Yamani won a gold medal in the Women’s 400metre Hurdles event while Dharshan, Chamal and Roshan claimed silver medals in their respective events – Men’s 400metre Hurdles, Men’s Triple Jump and Men’s High Jump.

Accordingly, gold medal winner Yamani received Rs. 300,000 while Dharshan, Chamal and Roshan were granted Rs. 200,000 each.
