‘Theli-Sidu Satana’ the birth of a new series
View(s):A memorandum of understanding was signed and exchanged by the principals of Siddartha College Weligama and Telijjawila Central College last Monday giving birth to an annual cricket encounter which will be called as the ‘Theli-Sidu Satana’.
The inaugural encounter will be hosted by Siddartha College at the Senanayake ground in Weligama on April 30. However due to financial restraints this year’s encounter will be a one-day four-innings game.
L.V.D. Jayasundera, the principal of Siddartha College said that the school will be celebrating its 125th anniversary later this year and that the two schools would be looking forward to make the series an exemplary one.
Principal of Thelijjawila Central College Wimal Vidanapathirana said that the ‘Theli-Sidu Satana’ will foster a bond between the two schools. The media briefing was attended by the vice principals, masters-in-charge, coaches and cricket captains of the two schools and other invitees.
