Nawaloka Group made quite a mess with their late arrival with only nine players, to hand over a massive 220-run win to MAS Silueta, in the ongoing 13th David Pieris Group of Companies sponsored, ‘DPGC’ Challenge Trophy, MCA Division ‘E’ 30-over League Tournament, continued last weekend.

Nawaloka was docked with five overs (15 runs per over) for their late arrival, as MAS Silueta amassed to 353 for 6 in 30 overs, propelled by the hurricane century by opening batsman Mahinda Chandrasekera (109 in 49 balls inclusive of eight sixes and a dozen fours) and a belligerent 67 in 31 balls with six sixes and eight fours by Isuru Kavinda. Nawaloka in reply managed only 183 in 23.3 overs.

The weekend’s other centurion was Dimuth Fernando from John Keells ‘C’ who scored 100 in 79 balls with six sixes and 12 fours against Hilton Colombo.
