The British School Colombo recorded a convincing 65-run win over FSCA Kandy cricketers to win the Under-13 title at the 5th SCA TYCDIEP International T20 Youth Cricket Tournament played at the Kingara International Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia recently.

U13 Team winner

In the final, the British School cricketers batting first put on a decent 128 for the loss of two wickets in their allotted 20 overs with Kavinda Subasinhe making an impressive 64. He was well supported by Senuka Darmakirthi who made 21.

Chasing 129 for victory the FSCA Kandy cricketers could only muster 63 runs. Rashwin Senanayake was the pick of the bowler claiming 2 for 12 runs while Senuka Darmakirthi and Pradyun Saikia picked up a wicket apiece. In the run-up to the finals, the BSC cricketers beat RCA Malaysia by a massive 104 runs, Singapore SCA by 10 wickets and PJC CC India by 186 runs.

British School Colombo cricketers carried away many individual awards on offer. Kavinda Subasinghe was adjudged the best batsman of the tournament and he also went on to win the award for the highest individual score in an innings. Pradyun Saikia won the award for the best bowling figure in an innings while the best wicketkeeper of the tournament award was claimed by Rahul Radesh. Star batsman Karn Kashyap was adjudged the best allrounder of the tournament. – NA
