The biggest ever karting showdown in Sri Lankan history will be held at the Sri Lanka Karting Circuit in Bandaragama next Saturday with the six-hour endurance race. The race is expected to attract a lot of teams including a top unit from India.

The Indian team includes Armaan Ebrahim, Sandeep Kumar, Vishnu Prasad, Raghul Rangasamy and Anindith Reddy with Akbar Ebrahim leading the unit as its manager and team principal.

Top driver Armaan is a former formula LGB champion and the first and only Asian driver to sign up for the rebirth of FIA Formula II in 2009. Sandeep Kumar has won the VW Polo R Cup Indian National Championship in 2012 while Vishnu is also a VW Polo R Cup driver. Raghul was the MRF National Racing Champion in 2013 and became the JK Racing champion last year. Anindithtoo is a VW Polo R Cup driver and takes care of the team’s mechanical engineering side.

In addition all leading karting drivers of Sri Lanka are geared up for the challenge and the local drivers who are looking to shine at the Bandaragama circuit will find themselves in a tough competition. The festive atmosphere at the venue will no doubt add more colour to the event.
Following the success of last year’s endurance championship, the organisers expect the event to raise the adrenaline levels of thousands of spectators who will be present at the Bandaragama circuit, owned and managed by David Pieris Automobiles Ltd.
