Colombo. Overall champions Cordova House collected 136.5 points while Istanbul House finished second with 117 points. Angora House finished at third with a tally of 92.5 points while Baghdad House finished fourth after accumulating 89 points.

Salman Fadhil of Baghdad House won the Best Performance award, given away for the athlete with an overwhelming performance of the meet. Mohamed Salman of Baghdad House became the Under-21 champion while Mohammad Musharaff of Istanbul and A.R.M. Rizwan of Cordova shared the Under-19 championship.

Baghdad’s Mohamed Zacky became the Under-17 champion as Mohamed Akthar of Cordova and Mohamed Dilshan of Istanbul shared the Under-15 championship. Angora’s Hadif Sheriffdeen won the Under-13 championship.

House captains with respective flags

The relay championship of the meet was won by Baghdad while Istanbul clinched the award for the drill display event. Cordova was picked as the winner of the march past competition while Angora was declared the best decorated house.

Captain of the Cordova Usman Hamid received challenge shield from chief guest Reza Aboobucker. The runners-up trophy was received by Istanbul captain Abdul Ruzaik and athletic captain Fawaz Ahamed from chief guest along with college athletic captain M.N.M. Hamdoon.

Guests of honour at the event were past students and former soccer captain M.H.M. Dahalan and the United Kingdom Old Zahirians’ Union Branch vice president Rilwan Fareed. Principal Trizvi Marikkar, members of the Board of Governors, Sports Council Chairman M.S.M. Mazeer, old boys, parents, teachers and students were also present, making the event a grand success.
