The British School Colombo, inter-house cricket championship saw the up-and-coming cricketers of the school demonstrating their amazing talents at the Health ground.

After a closely contested tournament, cricketers of Nobel House clinched the title pushing Scott House to the second slot. The winners started off well with an easy win over Newton. Chasing 38 to win in eight overs, the winners reached the target with four overs to spare thanks to Kyle Crosland who made an unbeaten 20.

Scott, on the other hand recorded a massive 61-run win over Shakespeare largely thanks to two blistering unbeaten knocks from Chamaka Perera (59) and Liam Shaugy (54). Shakespeare managed 55 for the loss three wickets in their eight overs.

Shakespeare however came back strongly in their second match against Newton as they recorded a comfortable 34-run win to place third in the tournament. The winners put on 89

runners up house

for the loss of nine wickets and restricted Newton for 54 runs for seven wickets.

In the final Nisal Kaluarchchi and Stephan de Silva scored 32 runs each as they chased down 76 runs with ease to win the inter-house cricket title for 2015. Lahiru Rajapakshe of Newton House won the best fielder’s award for his amazing commitment in the field.

The use of coloured clothing and white ball for the first time in this five-year-old inter-house cricket championship added much colour to the event. Stephan de Silva of Nobel House won the best bowler award for his superb effort while Liam Shauyg of Scott House was adjudged the best batsman for his amazing stroke play. The player of the tournament award went to Stephan de Silva for his allround contribution. The 2015 special talent award was won by Ruvidu Pethangoda of Shakespeare House who managed to get the first ever hat-trick in the inter-house cricket tournament.
