Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake has complained to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) that more than 2,100 important files in his Ministry have gone missing.
These files, he told the Sunday Times, included ones which contain information on shady and questionable deals. “We know the officials who have to be responsible for these files. So they will now have to tell the CID what happened to the files,” he said.
