Akila Dhananjaya’s 6/28 — the best for the week
LB Finance ‘B’ and Commercial Leasing Co. had easy outings against Softlogic Holdings and Colombo Dockyard PLC in the ongoing 4th Prestige Automobile (Pvt) Ltd., sponsored, ‘BMW-Hyundai’ Trophy, MCA ‘C’ division 50-Over League Tournament 2015, continued last weekend.
LBF ‘B’ defended their moderate total of 211 in 47.1 overs, as Akila Dhananjaya ripped through Softlogic with a brilliant spell of 9.3-1-28-6, to hand them over a comprehensive 107 runs win with over 20-Overs to spare.
Commercial Leasing, sent into bat was the first team to go over the 300 runs made in the tournament, their batting spearheaded by Saminda Fernando (85 in 103 balls inclusive of four sixes and six fours), K. Kanchana (55) and N. Karunaratne (41) – 317 in 49.4 overs.
Jason Perera, with a sustained spell of 7.3-1-30-4, took the wind out of the Dockyard sails, all out for 239 in 44.3 overs, failing to reach port by 78 runs. – LR
