Seylan women coast to 62 – 19 win over HSBC

Seylan Bank coasted to a comfortable 62 to 19 point win over Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank in their Mercantile Women’s Knockout basketball fixture at the Otter Aquatic court on Friday. At the short whistle the winners held a 29 to 13 point lead. Benika Thalagala led the scoring for Seylan Bank with 17 points, while N. Lakmali added 17 and M. Kumari another 14.

For HSBC, S. Perera eight points and A. Fernando five were the scorers.

Ina another game played on Friday Brandix Group downed Singer Sri Lanka by 52 points to 30 in a men’s knockout cager fixture conducted. At half time Brandix Group led by 31 points to nine.

H. N. Kavinga with 18 points and L. Parakrama 13 were the best shooters for Brandix Group,while the top scorer for Singer was S. Wijesinghe with 13.
