‘Idamedi Wikinie’ at Lumbini

Award winning drama producer E. M. D. Upali’s latest stage play “Idamedi Wikine” a translation of world famous play the “Cherry Orchard” written by well known Russian author Anton Chekhov will be staged at 3.30 pm and 6.30 pm at Lumbini Theatre, Havelock road on October 6.

The cast with more 15 players include Nilmini Sigera who returns to theatre after a long silence, Luxman Mendis, W. Jayasiri, Wasantha Wittachchi, Prasad Sooriarachchi, Gamini Wijesinghe, Jehan Srikantha Appuhamy, Ama Wijesekara, Pavithra Dayananda, Sulochana Weerasinghe, Kalana Gunasekara, Kalpani Jayasinghe (Havi), Mihiri Priyangani, Jagath Chandrasiri and Premakumara Dasanayaka. 

Music direction of the play is by Theja Buddika Rodrigo (Neesha) while costumes designed by Swinitha Perera and Ama Wijesekara, set designed by Pradeep Chandrasiri, make up by Wasantha Wittachchi, lights designed by Ranga Dissanayaka and Pradeep Chandrasiri, sound effects by Charudatta Ilangasinghe and Anjana Premarathna. Chamal Ranasinghe stage management while Priyankara De Silva is the production manager and the organiser.

The tickets are available at a concession rate for the university students and school students who are following theatre and drama at Sadeepa bookshop Borella , Sarasavi bookshop Nugegoda and the theatre gate.
