CCC School of Cricket Celebrates Anniversary

The CCC School of Cricket, one of the country’s premier cricket coaching schools, celebrated its 15th anniversary with its annual Inter-House Cricket tournament, which was conducted successfully during the weekend at the CCC Grounds.
Jayasuriya House, led by Tharusha Wijeyabahu, won the Inter- House Championship beating Sobers House by 4 points. Last year too Jayasuriya House were crowned the tournament’s winners. Former Sri Lankan legendary fast bowler, Vice Captain and current Fast Bowling Coach, Chaminda Vaas was the occasion’s honoured Chief Guest.
During his address, Mr. Vaas complimented the CCC School of Cricket for the high standards maintained in the quality of cricket played and also the discipline which has been the hallmark of CCC School of Cricket. Mr. Vaas also advised the young cricketers to maintain a good balance between

studying and playing cricket. He said that without a good education, even the best of sportsmen will be a misfit in society. He also wished that a few more cricketers from the CCC School of Cricket would represent Sri Lanka in the near future. The School of Cricket’s Director and Head Coach, Nelson Mendis as well as Sumith Tennekoon, the academy’s General Secretary also delivered speeches during the ceremony. The colourful two-day event was very successfully organized and conducted by the Executive Committee of parents, led by Harsha Peiris (CEO) and Deepal Hettiarachchi, the organizer of the event.
