Having received the London GCE A/L results the next step is to decide on where to study. Which country or countries would offer the best opportunities to get an internationally recognised education and a qualification and offer a willing hand to provide post study work experience, if required, to join the work force as a permanent resident. The two best countries for such offers would be Australia and New Zealand. With the high cost of a tertiary education in Australia and complicated visa procedures in place, New Zealand is an option well worth giving serious consideration.

New Zealand is one of the most liveable countries in the world. It is beautiful, not too crowded, quality of life is rich, is a developed country and is peaceful and away from the international trouble spots.

The universities are all regulated by the state with regard to quality of courses on offer. New Zealand has a number of excellent universities with international recognition, the best being the University of Auckland. The courses are priced moderately and are well affordable. The living costs too are very favourable compared to Australia.

Once a student completes a bachelor or a higher degree program the student can seek a one year post study work visa. A job offer is not needed. During the first year of post study visa one can prove his capability to an employer and obtain a job offer which leads to a minimum further extension of the post study work visa by another year. With one year of work during the 2 years of post study work visa the students have sufficient points to lodge an EOI for successful permanent residency. As for English skills all one needs is a 6.5 overall score at IELTS. Those students doing courses that are identified and listed as skills in high demand could get bonus points making their EOI absolute certain for success.

If you are keen to study degree courses in Agriculture & Forestry, Construction, Engineering, Finance & Business, Health & Social Services, Oil & Gas, Recreation/ Hospitality & Tourism and General Sciences, Education, ICT/ Electronics & Telecommunication the job prospects are very good giving excellent possibility to join the work force too as residents as these are categorised as skills which are in immediate shortage or long term shortage.
