Founder and artistic director of Power of Play (PVT) LTD, Sulochana Dissanayake is a graduate of Bates College, USA  in Economics and Theater ’09 and a Watson Fellow ‘09/’10 (Thomas J. Watson Foundation, USA). She studied contemporary theater/puppetry in South Africa/Indonesia and is currently promoting theater as a dynamic tool of communication in educational institutes/corporate organizations while producing original works

An internationally renowned children’s author, Sybil Wettasinghe has written and illustrated over 300 stories that have won her numerous national and international awards. How the Devil Ran Away was first published in 2000.The story illustrates age old village customs and healing practices of bali-thovil ritualistic performances. The story exemplifies how to overcome one’s fear of the unknown.

Dr. Lionel Bentharage, Professor of Dance and Drama at the University of Performing and Visual Arts, Colombo 7, is an internationally renowned low-country artist who has performed Sri Lankan low-country dancing rituals around the world. Trained under leading traditional maestros from his childhood, Dr. Bentharage currently teaches and performs these ancient ritualistic performances and is a main contributor for the maintenance of these rituals today. A gifted artisan, Dr. Bentharage also excels in creating traditional palm-frond decorations and constantly experiments in mixing traditional and contemporary craft designs to create unique stage sets, masks, puppets and props for contemporary performances.
