CICRA trains Sri Lanka Police top IT officers on cyber security

CICRA Consultancies (Pvt) Ltd recently concluded a four-day cyber security training program for top IT officers in the Sri Lanka Police.

Titled ‘Certified Secure Computer User (C|SCU), this training program provided the police officers with the necessary knowledge and skills to protect their information assets.

“During this training, participants acquire fundamental understanding of various computer and network security threats such as identity theft, credit card fraud, online banking phishing scams, virus and backdoors, emails hoaxes, sex offenders lurking online, loss of confidential information, hacking attacks and social engineering. More importantly, the skills learnt from the class helps them to take the necessary steps to mitigate their security exposure,” Boshan Dayaratne, Director/CEO of CICRA said.

“C|SCU is taught in an interactive lab environment by qualified trainers. This training is also useful for those who are working in the IT departments of the corporate sector,” Mr. Dayaratne said.

“In addition to the certificate of participation, those trainees who successfully complete the C|SCU examination receives a globally recognized qualification that they can use after their names,”he said.

CICRA is an accredited training center of the International Council of Electronic Commerce Consultants (EC-Council), USA. The EC-Council is a member-based organization that certifies individuals in cyber security and e-commerce.

It is the owner and developer of 16 security certifications, including Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Computer Hacking Forensics Investigator (CHFI), EC-Council Certified Security Analyst (ECSA) and License Penetration Tester (LPT).
