Junior rugby ace Aaqil thunders into Thailand tour

Aaqil Nasoordeen, a grade 6 student of S. Thomas’ College Mt. Lavinia, represented the college along with three others for the ‘A Goal Rugby Academy’ tour to Thailand, to participate in the Bangkok Lions’ Junior International Rugby Tens tournament.
This academy, formed in 2004 and managed by Dilroy Fernando, has moved from strength to strength and today boasts of a player base of over 175 players from different age groups (4 to 20 years).
A record number of over 700 players have been trained by the academy over the past nine years.
