APIIT merit scholarships 2013
View(s):Sri Lanka’s pioneer and market leader in quality higher education, Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT) is proud to 
award 10 Merit Scholarships in 2013 for the 6th consecutive year, each to a value of Rs.1,500,000/-. The objective of this scholarship scheme is to assist academically promising and financially needy students to pursue higher studies at the APIIT City Campus leading to a degree awarded by Staffordshire University in the UK.
SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME – 2013
- Four (04) scholarships will be awarded for studies in Computing leading to BSc (Hons)/ BEng (Hons) Computing Science or BSc (Hons)/ BEng (Hons) Software Engineering Degrees or BSc (Hons)/ BEng (Hons) Computer Networks and Security.
- Four (04) scholarships will be awarded for studies in Business Management leading to BA (Hons) in Business Management Degrees.
- Two (02) scholarships will be awarded for studies in Law leading to LLB (Hons) Law Degree.
- The scholarships will cover all fees related to the study programmes payable directly to APIIT – Sri Lanka and Staffordshire University.All other costs including accommodation and travelling must be borne by the scholarship holder. The scholarships will not cover fees for repeating courses/examinations, should this become necessary.
- All programmes will be conducted in the English medium on a full-time basis.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To become an APIIT Merit Scholar, a student must fulfil the following criteria:
-Passed GCE (Advanced Level) Examination in one attempt
-Passed GCE (Ordinary Level) Examination in one attempt with Credit Passes
English and Mathematics
-Parental income less than Rs.50,000/- per month
-Not currently reading for a degree or have already completed a degree
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Prescribed application forms can be collected from APIIT City Campus. Please contact us by phone (011 7675100), fax (0112687249), email (info@apiit.lk) or letter to receive the application form and course details by post. Application forms may be downloaded from our website:
www.apiit.lk.
Application should be made in the prescribed form only. All the information required should be provided; illegible or incomplete applications will be rejected. Applications should reach APIIT
City Campus on or before 6thMay 2013. Late applications will not be considered.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
Selection will be done by an independent panel on the basis of academic merit and financial need. The decision of the selection committee will be final and appeals for reconsideration will not be entertained. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of the 
applications.
Short listed applicants will be called for an interview at which they will be required to produce
the following documents in support of their application:
-Original results sheets of GCE (O/L) and GCE (A/L) Examinations
-Documentary proof of parental income, and certificate of income issued by Gramaseva Niladhari and endorsed by the Divisional Secretary
-Character certificate issued by the principal of the school last attended
SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS
