Vishaka Balika Maha Vidyalaya one of the pioneer girls’ school in Bandarawela, has selected as one of the secondary schools under the “Mahindodaya” 1000 schools project. Rapid developments and constructions proceeding to lead to a well equipped school.

The Minister of Education, Bandula Gunawardena made a swift visit to the school on 15th January 2013 to observe the progress of the construction. Badulla district parliament member Dr.Rohana Pushpakumara joined this occasion as well. The School Development Committee and the OGA instantly organized a small function to welcome the Minister and open the new name board of the college.

Under the 1000 schools project, the school will earn a well equipped computer unit, language unit, mathematics and science unit in 2014. The Minister of Education inspected the progress and inspected the classrooms and hostel. He assured the administrators of the school that he will certainly lift up the school to the point of Colombo Vishaka in 2016.
