Dream Cricket Day, a charity project jointly organised by the Rotary Club of Colombo West and the Bradman Foundation, Australia will be held today at the NCC ground in Maitland Place from 9.00am. According to the project chairman Roshan Lyman the purpose of Dream Cricket Day is to provide primary school students who have a disability with an exciting, fun day, by participating in a game of cricket.

The Dream Cricket Day, annual fixture in Sri Lanka will see the participation of over 100 differently abled children, engaging in cricketing activities throughout the day. The day will begin at 9.00am with the registration of all participants followed by a training programme conducted by Australian coaches. The participating children will also get the opportunity of experiencing a cricket encounter beginning from 10.00am to 3.30pm.

The chief guest for the occasion will be Adam Jones, counsellor of the Australian High Commission in Sri Lanka. Rotarian Ken Adam of the Rotary Club in Bowral, Australia, Rick McCarthy, the ambassador for Bradman Foundation in Australia and Brendan McNally, the trustee of Movement Disorder will be the guests of honour. – NA
