A cool job

What some officials are up to! It has been brought to our notice that a certain official appointed as a development officer to a leading sports body is being paid US Dollars 50 a day just for doing nothing. His job is to supervise the workings of those wo are officiating at matches. All what he does is watch these officials at work, collect all the left over food that is being served for these officials and go home to sleep. For a game which usually is played for three days he collects a cool US Dollars 150 and a bagful of food as well.

Busy as bees

There was a hive of activity up North recently as a top official of a leading sports body was due to visit the area. When the local big wigs were questioned about this visit they said that they are unable to get anything done without mentioning about this guy’s visit as the people who are involved with the construction work due to this official’s visit are a lethargic lot. So if any work is to be done mention the name of a top official who might visit the place and lo they get busy as bees!

The tee-shirt battle

Recently two veterans went for each other’s necks at a canteen after a sports festival in front of the sportsmen who took part in the events. From the words that were exchanged it became crystal clear that these two veterans were fighting over some tee-shirts. One chap claimed that he got the wrong tee-shirts while the other said that he was deceived and the person who did it was standing in front of him!
No word about officials
Over to an indoor sport where a local lad topped the list. This champion of champions was interviewed over TV, Radio and the newspapers. Not a word did the champ say about the officials and this august lot is angry at the champ for not giving them the due credit. The officials of the sport say that they have rented a big apartment as the game’s headquarters in the suburbs and the champ should at least talk about the headquarters so that at least they will get a permanent office courtesy of the powers that be.

The great cycle race

A cycle race took place down South to celebrate the birthday of a big guy. The event was held for five days but even at the end of the fifth day no results were released. The results however were given on the sixth day, that too after the lunch break. Why did the officials take so long to release the results when everybody knew who the winners were? They say that the officials had no clue on how to judge a cycle race and had to hold several discussions before the final results were released.

Scott free

There was a big hue and cry when a mobile phone went missing at a junior cricket match. The phone had been ‘lifted’ by an official who was keeping tab of the game. When this came to light the body who decides who should stand at these decided to keep mum about it. Now other officials want to know why this incident was not highlighted and why the culprit was not punished.
