ESOFT recruiting new students for BCS IT Higher Education Diploma courses
View(s):ESOFT Computer Studies is currently in the process of recruiting new students for BCS HEQ diploma courses in IT of the British Computer Society. Students who have passed the G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) Examination and have sat for the recently concluded G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination can enroll for the Higher Education Qualifications conducted by BCS i.e. – the Certificate in IT, the Diploma in IT and the Professional Graduate Diploma in IT.
The British Computer Society, the Chartered Institute of IT, is the Learned Society representing the IT field. BCS conducts its’ courses in many countries of the world including Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan chapter of the BCS was inaugurated in 1996. The BCS is producing about 150 BCS Graduates per year and presents them their awards at a formal graduation ceremony. The BCS IT Higher Education Qualifications have to be completed before you can apply to become a Chartered IT Professional. Once they become a BCS Graduate, they can obtain the Member of British Computer Society (MBCS) status.
Other than that, they can also apply for the membership of the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL). There is a high level of global and national acceptance for the BCS IT Higher Education Qualifications.
The University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka have officially accepted the Professional Graduate Diploma in IT, one of the highest qualifications of the BCS, as being a sufficient pre-qualification to register in a Sri Lankan university to follow courses in Master in Computer Science (M.Sc), Master in Information Technology (MIT) and Master in Business Administration (MBA). Other than that, those who complete the Professional Graduate Diploma in IT can register at a university in United Kingdom (UK) to read for a post graduate qualification.
Every year, thousands of students who have passed the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination lose the opportunity of studying for an internal degree in a Sri Lankan University because they lose university entry by a few marks. Those students can complete the Professional Graduate Diploma in IT of the BCS and join a profession with a high salary and a good social status. It takes a maximum of two years to complete all three levels of the BCS HEQ. After obtaining the qualification, students can read for a post-graduate degree in the relevant field from local or foreign universities.

ESOFT is the first and only educational institution in Sri Lanka to be thus recognized by the British Computer Society for all three levels, and is also the only institution in the World to be thus recognized for all three levels.

HND Higher National Diploma Courses in information technology and business management fields from Edexcel International of the United Kingdom are also available at ESOFT, and they were recently recognized with an Award for having a high growth rate in the number of student registrations.
