My quail birds

I have five quail birds at home. We have kept them in a cage. They are brown in colour. I feed them bird food everyday. They lay tiny eggs. It is very nutritious.

A wimpy tale!

From the great author Jeff Kinney
An amusing tale of a wimpy kid
Side splitting and extremely funny
Makes you laugh as you never did!
The Heffly boys – Greg, Manny and Rodrick
Three bros – can’t stand each other!
Greg’s the wimp, Rodrick’s quite ‘thick’,
Manny’s a tattletale but is favoured by his mother.
Rodrick and Greg are always at war
Rowley is Greg’s best friend (he is quite fat)
Rodrick’s the drummer of his band –
‘Loded Diper”
He says he’s professional, but we’ll see about that!

Greg’s got a crush on this girl – Holly Hills
Fregly’s a boy that Greg thinks is gross
‘Ploopy’ or ‘Bubbly’ as his brother Manny calls him
Greg hopes to be famous and rich when he grows.

As a wimp, he hates sports
Though soccer and swimming, his dad makes him go
He’d rather stay at home and watch videos
Or play video games (he thinks books are a bore!)

I enjoy reading these
hilarious cartoon diaries
Which are an international
bestseller
Sometimes as I read these
I think – it isn’t so bad to be a wimp!

Cheers! Funday Times

Newspapers are the most popular medium of news. Various kinds of newspapers are being published in different languages, some daily and others periodically. Among them, the Funday Times which is a sub-section of the Sunday Times newspaper is published every Sunday, which I eagerly read.

I am a member of the Funday Times since 2002 and have been collecting the Funday Times from the day it was first published and have the collection in bounded form. There can be seen typical changes and development in contents year by year and week by week.

The Funday Times consists of various columns like current affairs, History, Geography, Maths, Science, Quizzes, Crosswords and Competitions as well. The most important section for young readers is the Essay and Art section to which I have contributed from the time of membership.

The opportunity to showcase our talents and the conducting of various activities like Nuga Gama workshops, Day out at Leisure World, Children’s Party at Excel World and fun and entertainment has been the forte of the Funday Times.

I wish the Funday Times many more years of educative services to young readers and may the newspaper go from strength to strength. Best wishes on your 12th Anniversary!

Value of trees

Trees are a very important part of the world. We can’t live without trees. Trees give pure oxygen to breathe and then human beings inhale oxygen and exhale carbondioxide.

Trees give us many things. They give us wood to make furniture, houses etc. Most important thing about plants is they keep the environment beautiful.

Trees give us rubber, cinnamon, tea, coconut etc. Trees give us food that we eat. Most of the time people cut trees in the forests. It is a very bad habit to cut trees. We must protect trees and we must plant more trees. Trees are the most important thing in the world.
