Maliyadeva cruised to an 80 run win over St. Anne’s in their 17th Limited Over match played at the Welagedera Stadium yesterday.Batting first on winning the toss skipper Nimna Karunaratne and Keshan Wijeratne made contrasting forties to power Maliyadeva to 230.
Leo Fransisco and Dilshan Dhanushka entered the twenties.Left armspinner Udesh Hatharasinghe bowled well to bag 4 for 26.
St. Anne’s were well-placed at 98 for 2 thanks to the efforts of Shehan Cooray and Madushan Cooray and Malshan Perera. But they then lost five wickets for nine runs and from that point on, there was only one winner.
