TOYP 2010: Re-writing history

The Award ceremony of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons programme(TOYP) was successfully held on October 6 at Water's Edge. TOYP is a National Project organized by the Junior Chamber International Sri Lanka (JCISL) which was originally conceived and developed by Durwood Howes, President of the United States Junior Chamber in 1930. In Sri Lanka the TOYP was first introduced in 1980 and it has been an annually organized event in the JCI calendar. This year TOYP has re-written the history by the highly dedicated organizing committee members.

Junior Chamber has often been referred to as "an organization of opportunities", possibly because the opportunities available within the organization are so numerous it would take a lifetime to experience them all. We create better leaders to create better societies. We provide young adults like you with the confidence to reach within themselves and overcome limitations. We show you how to achieve more than you thought possible in your family, business, and social e n v i r o n m e n t s .Through the JCI University, members master the roles of managers, visionaries, coaches, educators, ambassadors and learners by participating in hands-on training workshops. Besides having the opportunity to network with successful business leaders through the JCI Biznet, JCI members can learn and grow by participating in countless and varied projects that benefit communities worldwide.
