Wesleyite Roshana wins Speech Contest

A speech contest organized by the Colombo YMCA based on Sir Edwin Arnold's Book "The light of the world" was conducted for boys and girls in two age groups.

The semi-finals were conducted on August 28, in the Junior Boy's category. Six students were selected for the final, which was held on September 4, 2010. Contestants were expected to deliver excerpts from the book "the light of the world."

Roshana Perera, a Grade 9 student of Wesley College Colombo was judged the winner of the Junior Boy's category. This was the first time that a student from Wesley College, Colombo participated in this competition.

Roshana was trained by Mrs. Shanthi de Silva and Mrs. Shirani Edema who are members of the Wesley College Staff.
