New President at Sri Lanka – Italy Biz Council

Ranjit Jayewardene, Managing Director, Ranmal International (Pvt) Ltd was elected as President of the Sri Lanka – Italy Business Council for the year 2009-2010 at its last AGM held recently. The Council, which focuses on the objectives of ‘promoting investment, trade and joint venture between Sri Lanka and Italy,’ is one of 20 bilateral business councils that function under the aegis of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.

Daya Ratnayake, Managing Director, Aus ‘Afrasia Design Tiles and Ms. Tania Polonnowita, Managing Director, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics (Pvt) Ltd were appointed as Vice Presidents respectively. The following were elected to the Committee - Raja Abeysinghe, CEO, Allied Trading and Engineering (Pvt) Ltd, Niranjan Rodrigo, Director, Aitken Spence Travels Ltd, Sunil Wijesinha, Chairman/Managing Director, Dankotuwa Porcelain PLC, Navindra Abeysekara, irector – Business Development, Delmege Forsyth and Co, Daminda Dinesh, Senior Manager, Jetwing Travels (Pvt) Ltd, Mahendra Jayasekara, Managing Director, Lanka Tiles PLC, Arjuna Yatawara, Director – Marketing, Mackwoods Ltd, Gihan De Silva, Managing Director, Sherman Sons Ltd and Rajeev Aloysius, Joint Managing Director, The Autodrome PLC.
