Water tariffs to stay unchanged for now
View(s):Dispelling speculation about a possible water tariff hike, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board said yesterday that any decision will be taken only at the scheduled tariff review on June 30.
Officials added that an increase is unlikely in the immediate future, as no proposal has been submitted.
General Manager T. Barathithasan noted the institution can manage its operational requirements until June without a revision.
Water Board Chairman Chandana Bandara confirmed that no tariff increase has been proposed and it is not likely in the near future.
