Honorary professorship for Prof Heenkenda

Senior Prof Shirantha Heenkenda, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Sri Jayewardenapura, was awarded an honourary professorship by Ural State University of Economics (USUE) in Yekaterinburg, Russian Federation.
The recognition took place during the XVI Eurasia Economics Youth Forum, held on April 22, at a gathering of Russian and foreign universities.
The honour stems from continuous academic collaboration between the two universities since 2023.
Under Professor Heenkenda’s leadership, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences has launched a Professional Diploma in Russian Language, established research collaborations, and organised essay competitions.
Both institutions have agreed to expand their academic and research partnerships.
