6 schools in the East get new buildings

Six buildings in 6 schools built at a cost of Rs 138 million in the Dambana and Ampara education zones were handed over to the students, by Eastern Province governor Jayantha Lal Rathnasekara and Deputy Minister of Rural Development, Social Security and Community, Wasantha Piyathissa.
Higurana Vidyalaya, Hagoda Sri Indrasara Vidyalaya, Saddathissa Maha Vidyalaya, Gamini Maha Vidyalaya and Namalthalawa Maha Vidyalaya were among the schools which got these new buildings.

The governor said the Eastern Provincial Council had been allocated 2,025 million rupees by the government to improve the education within the province.
District parliamentarian Manjula Ratnayake, eastern zonal education officials, principals, teachers and parents took part in the event.
