Risith, Hashan, Raminda shine for BRC
Risith Upamal, along with Hashan Dumindu and Raminda Wijesooriya, shone for BRC on the first day against NCC in their SLC Major Club 3-day Cricket Tier ‘A’ encounter played at the Surrey Village Ground in Maggona yestreday.
Risith struck a career-best 151, which included 17 boundaries and a six, and featured in two fine century partnerships. He added 131 runs for the third wicket with Hashan, who made 63, and a further 107 runs for the fourth wicket with Promod Maduwantha, helping BRC take first innings advantage and end day one on a formidable 360-7.
Meanwhile, Anjala Bandara cracked an unbeaten 121 and was well supported by Sonal Dinusha, who remained not out on 86, as CCC reached 314-4 against Police SC at the close of the first day’s play at the NCC ground. Dinesh Chandimal made 144 as Colts scored 336 in their first innings. The matches will continue today.
