Team Green emerged champion of the Women’s National Super League T20 Cricket Tournament after pulling off a comfortable 6-wicket win over Team Blues in the final played at the P. Sara Oval yesterday.

Team Blues, despite a top knock of 51 coming from skipper Chamari Athapaththu, who gave the side a solid start of 55 runs with Sandali Weerasinghe, proved to be in vain as they lost wickets at regular intervals. And they lost the remaining nine wickets for the addition of 40 runs before being bowled out for 95.

Team Green in their run chase, underwent some anxious moments after losing their top three wickets on 40 in the ninth over, before Nilakshika Silva came to their rescue. She remained unbeaten on 36 off 31 balls, inclusive of four boundaries and a six. Nilakshika shared two useful partnerships, first a brief 21 runs for the fourth wicket with Piumi Wathsala and an unbroken partisanship of 37 runs for the fourth wicket with Oshadi Ranasinghe which helped them to race to the target with 11 deliveries to spare.

Team Greens are the Women's NSL T20 champions for 2026
